Question 1
Why has society in this day and age come to such a careless state?
Answer
Direction and vision. There does not seem to be local, national or international
direction for this and the next generation to follow. How can we expect the
children of this age to respect anything or anyone when the government and
some adults are not preparing a way or setting an example

Question 2
What is missing from today’s society?
Answer
First of all, not enough emphasis has been taught in schools or in the home
about the most important things in life such as, honesty, respect for others
and other people’s possessions, trust, integrity, responsibility and
a good name. These points are far more important than grade results.
Patience is another big problem. With the world running at microwave speed,
everyone expects everything when they want it and ‘right now or else.’
If we ever needed patience on earth it should be now.
There are more people which means more problems, which means more traffic,
more queues and more of everything. For example, if you have one child you
can focus your attention on that one, but if you have three or more, then
someone has to wait. There is more demand from just two parents.
Discipline.
If someone does something which is wrong, then they must be disciplined and
told what they have done wrong, or else that person may believe it is all
right to do and do it again or could do it even worse. In the last, say ten
years, there has not been any effective discipline to the young and those
who commit crime. About 15 to 20 years ago, if you stole from someone it would
be a big disgrace and not many young people would contemplate theft then,
on the scale that it is now, to my knowledge.
These days crime by young people and a total disrespect for the elderly, have
reached an embarrassing high level. Even in the law it seems as if the criminal
has more rights than the victim. The government caused this problem. This
is fair to say as it is down to the government to listen to the people of
the land - who they are supposed to be representing.
